Multiple Risk Factors Analysis of Post-dural Puncture Headache (PDPH) among Parturient Patients Underwent Caesarean Section at Obstetric Hospitals in Somaliland
Regional anesthesia, particularly spinal technique, is administered during obstetric surgery. The patient and the procedure have risk factors that affect the likelihood of post-dural puncture headaches (PDPH). This study aimed to assess multivariate statistical analyses of risk factors that predict PDPH occurrence in patients who underwent Caesarean section in an obstetrics hospital in Somaliland.
The study concluded that Lumber puncture attempts were a significant risk factor in predicting PDPH compared to other. However, the other risk factors were reported as weak, sensitive and specificity risk factors to predict PDPH occurrence.

Message from the President
Dear Colleagues, Partners, and Friends,
As President of the Somaliland Anesthesia Network (SAN), it is both an honor and a privilege to address you. Our network has grown significantly over the past years, uniting anesthesia providers, emergency units, and allied health professionals dedicated to advancing safe, effective anesthesia care in Somaliland.
Our vision is rooted in the commitment to enhance training, foster collaboration, and expand access to high-quality anesthesia and critical care services throughout the region. This year, we have successfully organized specialized training workshops, hosted our 5th Annual Conference, and collaborated with esteemed partners like the Taiwan Medical Mission to provide life-saving courses and resources.
I am especially proud of our recent initiatives aimed at improving anesthesia services in both urban and rural settings. We are creating more opportunities for continuous professional development, sharing best practices, and advocating for the resources necessary to elevate patient care standards. Through these efforts, we remain dedicated to strengthening the skills and resilience of our healthcare workforce.
Looking forward, SAN will continue to prioritize initiatives that build local capacity and promote patient-centered, safe, and accessible anesthesia care for all. Thank you to each of our members and supporters who have made this progress possible. I look forward to all that we will accomplish together.
